Working with Local Councils
At CleanupUK we strongly believe that volunteers can benefit hugely from developing a good relationship with their local council. Councils can help volunteers in all kinds of ways, including lending or giving them equipment and collecting the rubbish that they have collected. It is also good practice for volunteers to keep their local council informed about their activities so that the council is aware of where they are operating and can offer help as appropriate.
CleanupUK is also very happy to help local councils who would like to extend the number of volunteer groups that operate in their area. CleanupUK will happily meet up with the appropriate council officer and discuss the planning of a jointly-run campaign to reach potential volunteers who feel strongly about litter but who might not be aware of how they can get involved. Please e-mail us for further details.
